Ein 11-jähriger Junge, der am Samstagmorgen nach einem von Houston Police Department beschossenen Auto starb, wurde als Jalen Randle identifiziert.

Laut Polizei fuhr der Verdächtige an einer roten Ampel in sein Auto und schoss dann auf Offiziere, bevor er floh. Die Polizei folgte ihm zu Fuß und feuerte auf das Auto, als der Verdächtige wieder schoss.

Der 11-jährige Jalen befand sich im Auto und wurde tödlich getroffen. Der Verdächtige, der als 30-jähriger Julian M. identifiziert wurde, wurde in einem nahegelegenen Krankenhaus behandelt und ins Gefängnis gebracht.

Die Familie des Jungen hat eine Spendenaktion gestartet, um die Beerdigungskosten zu decken. Die Gemeinde hat auch ein Memorial für Jalen errichtet, um seine Erinnerung zu ehren. Die Polizei untersucht weiterhin den Vorfall.
