Die Methode der Selbstsammlung von Zellabstrichen wurde in einer Studie in Kanada untersucht und zeigte vielversprechende Ergebnisse. Frauen erhielten Kits zur Selbstabnahme von Zellabstrichen, die sie zu Hause durchführen und zur Untersuchung einsenden konnten.
